After all the sweet comments about our engagement, I figured I owe you all the story! First of all, thank you for the many congratulations – I couldn’t be happier or more excited to be engaged to the love of my life. Let the excessive champagne drinking commence!

The story is short and sweet and very “us”. On Valentine’s Day (after we got home from work) we went to Whole Foods to grab a few things for dinner then took Gaston for a walk. As usual, I changed into my sweats as soon as we got home and Martin was not changing, which was weird. So I insisted he join me in comfy clothes. Martin then cooked a delish meal for us and then we started watching tv and cuddling on the couch. At one point, Martin went into the other room and picked up Gaston. He came over and said the sweetest things about how he loves our life together and wants to continue it forever. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was completely shocked and had no idea because by this time I had not only been wearing sweats, but had washed off my makeup, taken out my contacts and put on my glasses! I love that he surprised me and did it in such a personal way that was just us, in our home, being us. ♥
