La Cuisine des Martins

February 28th, 2011

This weekend while I was up in Danville, I got to see the most recent update on my parents’ house. The entire kitchen was completely remodeled and finally complete enough for my mom to decorate. My mom has always had an inherent knack for decorating, so I was not surprised that it looked great already. What I was surprised about is the way she took some great old items and featured them in the brand new kitchen.

This vintage milkshake maker, perched up on a shelf at eye level is a great whimsical focal point.

These green jars are a great accent with a bright pop of color. They would be cute to pull off the shelf and use as vases for some wildflowers as well!

This line-up of cookbooks is accented by these jars and scale. The colors of the cookbooks themselves are fantastic, but these little touches are what make the room complete. ♥
