I took these photos before all the wedding madness ensued and finally got around to making them into an outfit post. The look is very girly grunge with my pumped up kicks and striped mini. I had been on a kick where I was wearing this beanie every chance I got. The wind in San Francisco was irritating me to the max and I just found that it made me happier to not deal! ♥

For starters, I will begin with my favorite element – the wedding dress of course! I knew I wanted a lace dress and I knew I wanted a mermaid silhouette. While those may seem like pretty open search fields, the options were not as endless as I had hoped, which made the search tough. I first looked up in norther Cali with my family, then by myself in LA last year. I finally made a trip up to Bridal Galleria here in San Francisco and fell in love with my Jim Hjelm dress (Jim Hjelm 8210). The low back and the deep sweet heart neck were swoon-worthy features. The champagne underlay of the dress gave it a vintage feel. I paired the dress with a stunning Lazaro belt (which was pricey, but sooo worth the splurge in the end). The belt took the dress to a new level, and made it a touch more modern, which complimented our modern yet romantic wedding. I left the other accessories to a minimum, just adding small drop earrings for jewelry. The veil was made on Etsy by Alisa Brides and I couldn’t have been happier with the results. I fell in love with a veil and she was able to recreate it for a third of the price!

Last weekend I went to my bestie’s baby shower and wore this tan and teal outfit. I loved that it is boho chic and very easy to wear. The color of the dress and my half turban really scream spring! I paired the look with boots because I love how comfy they are and how they gave the look a more interesting feature than a wedge would. ♥

I went for a cozy walk the other night with my boys and wanted to be comfortable and warm. I slipped on my wedge sneakers, or as I call them, my pumped up kicks. I like that they still give me lift while being easy to wear. A warm floppy hat and snakeskin sweater completed the look. It was a perfect jazzed-up casual outfit for a stroll. ♥

It seems like not too long ago I was preparing for Santa to make his way down the chimney, now I find myself getting ready for the Easter Bunny to hop his way into my house. Easter is just a few weeks away, and if you’re anything like me you like to be prepared, organized and ready to go weeks in advance.

Lately, I have been using inspiration boards for planning girl’s nights, decorating for holidays and even for putting together outfits. Fashion trends hard to stay on top of, and even more daunting is how to take a trend and make it your own. Otherwise, you may feel as though you are wearing the same thing as everyone else!

This year for Easter, I thought I would use some of my favorite colors, combined with a few fashion trends and create a unique Easter outfit. Keep in mind I like to be trendy, but being comfortable is just as important!

Here’s how I plan to use an inspiration board to create my look:

I know what you are thinking… cupcakes? Ribbons? How does that correlate with my Easter outfit? Well, its all about inspiration and when I saw this picture from a wedding at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino I fell in love with the turquoise in the ribbons, then again when I saw the frosting on those Easter cupcakes I found (and might have to bake!).  These two very different objects gave me inspiration for the color scheme in my outfit this year, turquoise, which happens to be right on trend. I also plan to incorporate a pop of coral somehow, whether it is in my clothing, shoes or accessories. Glasses are one of my favorite additions for any occasion right now, and although I don’t have those amazing coral ones, I will most likely be sporting my Ray Bans. A piece of statement jewelry, similar to the one in my inspiration board, will also make its way into my attire.  I am so excited for my Easter outfit.

It will definitely easy to put together now that I have an inspiration board to help me visualize what I am going to wear.   Try creating your own fashion inspiration board!

This casually vested look incorporates easy basics with a fun fur lined vest. I was going to be doing quite a bit of walking last weekend, so I definitely zoned in on flats for starters. The vest was my next selection because I love the casual feel of it combined with the fun fur collar accent. The pop of blue in the shirt made the look less boring. Best part? I was able to shop and walk around SF for hours with my love, without once complaining about being cold or my feet hurting. Priceless! ♥
