I wanted to share some party pics from our engagement party this past weekend. It was a night we will never forget. The food was delish, the decor was adorable, and there was an endless flow of champagne. It was so special to celebrate with family and friends all in one place at the same time!

One of my favorite parts was ending the night with a dance party with my sisters:) Now, we just can’t wait to celebrate with Martin’s family as soon as we can get over to France! ♥

This weekend is our engagement party up in Danville. My family is throwing us a fabulous party and I am so excited! I believe the above will be part of the decor, but the rest will be a really fun surprise. This weekend we are flying up to NorCal again to tackle more wedding plans. On the agenda? First we are hoping to secure a venue. Next, I am going wedding dress shopping for the first time EVER with my mom and two sisters. I am so giddy, jump-up-and-down excited to start this part of the process, as you can imagine. Here are some gowns I have been dreaming of. I am interested to see if what I like on me is totally different than what I have envisioned. We are off to see family and friends in Northern California for the weekend to celebrate our engagement in person and start discussing initial wedding plans. I am so excited! After all the sweet comments about our engagement, I figured I owe you all the story! First of all, thank you for the many congratulations – I couldn’t be happier or more excited to be engaged to the love of my life. Let the excessive champagne drinking commence!

The story is short and sweet and very “us”. On Valentine’s Day (after we got home from work) we went to Whole Foods to grab a few things for dinner then took Gaston for a walk. As usual, I changed into my sweats as soon as we got home and Martin was not changing, which was weird. So I insisted he join me in comfy clothes. Martin then cooked a delish meal for us and then we started watching tv and cuddling on the couch. At one point, Martin went into the other room and picked up Gaston. He came over and said the sweetest things about how he loves our life together and wants to continue it forever. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was completely shocked and had no idea because by this time I had not only been wearing sweats, but had washed off my makeup, taken out my contacts and put on my glasses! I love that he surprised me and did it in such a personal way that was just us, in our home, being us. ♥
