Fab Friday Finds

March 14th, 2014

fab friday finds

Time for some spring florals! I saw these amazing Marc by Marc Jacobs floral pants and just had to plan a fab Friday finds look around them. I love the colors in the pants and they just go perfectly with this floral necklace and bright flats. The Rebecca Minkoff bag ties back in with the main color of the pants but is still a statement piece on its own. I would pair this with a crisp white tee – perfection! Happy Friday!

Chunky Sweaters and Leather Leggings

February 12th, 2014

plaid coat and leather leggings

One of my go-to outfits this winter has been chunky sweaters and leather leggings. I love the juxtaposition of the comfy, cozy knits and the sleek leather leggings. For even more warmth, I have been throwing on my plaid coat, which adds a fun pattern into the mix for the ultimate in pattern and texture play. The leather leggings can be real, which tends to be a bit (ok way) pricey, or faux like these high waisted leggings. To keep your legs looking nice and long, pair the pants with black pointy toe booties.

I am planning on meeting the frenchman in New York later next week when he finishes a work trip. It will be my very first trip to the big apple, and I can’t wait to rock a version of this outfit there. I think I may have to throw on a hat and gloves and another long sleeve tee under the sweater to cut it in the frigid cold, but it will look fab nonetheless. Feel free to chime in with any must-do’s in New York!

Bell Bottoms

January 15th, 2014

bell bottoms

I love me some bell bottoms. Back in middle school, I had a fabulous pair of velvet leopard print bell bottoms. I adored them! When everyone else was wearing baggy boy jeans or the oh-so-popular puffy Adidas jacket, I rocked it out in those velvet bell bottoms like Steven Tyler himself. Well, a nerdier, pimply, glasses-wearing version of him. It is no wonder why I am still uh-bsessed with these pants! I just love the hippie feel of them and with the prints currently at Free People, they are better than ever. I hope to score a pair of these and rock them all spring long! Shop the look below…

Playing Fashion Police: Golden Globes 2014

January 13th, 2014

I am going to keep my review of the Golden Globes fashion very short and sweet this year by only mentioning my #1 best and #1 worst dressed. I didn’t think there were too many absolutely horrible dresses on the red carpet this year and I didn’t think there were too many that took my breath away.

When I saw Kate Beckinsale, I screamed “OMG!” I really want to wear that dress – like now! I love the feminine shape and the bold material and color. She always nails it!

As for the worst, Paula Patton took that award. I was sad that she covered up her amazing bod with this catastrophe. Not only that, but when she was presenting, you could see her entire nipple through that white fabric. Not classy.

Frisky Fall Outfit

October 30th, 2013

While I love cozy fall outfits like this one or this one, I also think we have to wear some frisky fall outfits. What makes an outfit frisky, you ask? I think it needs to be both playful and sexy. Here I paired high-waisted skinnies with a saucy black leather jacket. The cat tee adds the fun factor, as do the tassle booties. Here I added a scarf, but you could add any accessories: a fancy dancy diamond tennis bracelet (also pictured), feather earrings, or even an embellished necklace. Do you like to stick to comfy fall outfits, or mix it up?
