Happy Halloween!

October 31st, 2012

I thought this of all years it was appropriate to revisit this bride costume I wore on Halloween when I was 4. Although I won’t be rocking this rad headband on the big day in April, I may consider those amaze gloves;) Happy Halloween! ♥

Leather and Lace

October 30th, 2012

dress: Free People (similar), belt: unknown (boutique in Saint-Tropez, France), shoes: Nordstrom (similar), bag: JustFab

Leather and lace usually go horribly together. The combination can be sleazy and straight up prostitute. When I put this outfit together, I obviously was not going for that effect. The lace on this dress (previously seen here) is very boho and I wanted to play up that aspect more than I did the last time I wore it. The leather belt I chose has a bit of a country style with the large sliver and gold buckle, but I didn’t want to go too country by pairing it with brown boots or booties. I decided on a strappy pair of brown heels that added elegance to the look, instead of competing with the chunky belt. I love taking one piece like this lace dress and styling it different ways, all resulting in a completely different look. ♥

Prepster

October 29th, 2012

vest: Nordstrom, dress: Loft (France), shoes: Urban Outfitters (similar), socks: Macys (similar), bag: Jack Russell Malletier

This last weekend I was in a very preppy mood. I decided to pull out some knee high argyle socks to sport with a dress for dinner one night. Although I wanted to pair them with a little pleated skirt, I resisted the urge so as not to look like I was dressing up as a schoolgirl for Halloween. The layers added a bit of a bohemian vibe to offset the prepster look a bit. Clearly, Gaston was feeling the preppy vibe as well. ♥

Fancy Booties

October 24th, 2012

To me fall means many things: pumpkin flavored everything, scarves, layers, the switch from iced coffee to hot. But more than anything, it means boots! I love all types of boots, but some of my faves are booties. While I love a good casual suede bootie or a moto bootie, fancy booties really grab my attention. They dress up a look instantly, whether it is a simple pair of jeans or a fab cocktail dress. I have rounded up some of my favorites – what item are you coveting for fall? ♥
