We are off to France today to visit the fiancé’s family! I am going to do my best to get some blogging done over there, but until then:

Bye Little Guy

August 24th, 2012

Last night I brought Gaston up to stay with my parents while we go visit the fiancé’s family in France. I am freakishly attached to my dog and obviously hate saying goodbye to the little guy! I just had to post these adorable pics of him so I can stare at them while I drown my sorrows via southwest drink coupons on the plane back to LA. If you have a pet, do you hate to leave them, or are you happy to get some alone time? ♥

Hammer Time

August 23rd, 2012

pants: F21 (similar), tank: Nordstrom (similar), shoes: Nine West (similar), necklace: Jewelmint

Well, these aren’t exactly as hard core as the real MC Hammer pants, but when I saw these my first thought was: hammer time. I mean this in the best possible way, of course, or I wouldn’t have bought them. They are fun, have a bit of an 80’s vibe, with a modern tribal spin. The high waist and simple black and white color scheme also keep these trendy instead of verging on costume. I decided to pair these with a black tank and some fun black heels for dinner out. I think added too much color to the look would be too much to handle. I am definitely planning on bringing these to wear in France next week! ♥

Simple Outfit + Fancy Necklace

August 22nd, 2012

I love my juxtapositions. Girly dresses with moto boots, sweaters with short shorts, leopard and lace. It is no wonder I love the idea of taking a simple outfit and slapping on a fancy necklace. The look is transformed from casual and possibly boring, to oh-so-fabulous. Accessorizing makes me happy, and this take on it will have me smiling all week! ♥

High Waisted

August 20th, 2012

tank and shorts: Urban Outfitters (similar), shoes: Kenneth Cole, necklace: F21, sunnies: Nordstrom, bracelet: vintage

Although I have been a big fan of high waisted denim since the 70’s trend returned, it took until now to buy a pair. I have no idea why I didn’t get some sooner, because they are so fun to wear and make me feel tres Daisy Duke! These were part of my haul last week and definitely a steal from Urban Outfitters. Their denim is surprisingly well made for reasonable prices, which never disappoints. I paired these with a tank from the same store and fab sky high wedges. I plan on wearing these for as long as the warm weather stays around. ♥
