Arm Garden

August 24th, 2011

sunnies: Nordstrom, bracelets: JewelMint, vest: Express, dress: Anthropologie, belt: Target, shoes: New York & Co.

If you are not familiar with the craze of the arm party, you can get filled in here. The trend was coined by the Man Repeller and quickly adopted by all those who can’t just put on one bracelet. Always a fan of layering my bracelets to the max, I’ll never turn down the opportunity to invite more attendees to my arm party. When JewelMint sent this precious Garden Patch Trio to me, I rejoiced at the new arm garden I had going on. With the bright colors and floral pattern, this trio of bracelets was screaming for me to pair them with a bright color and a boho look, so I listened. ♥

Spritz

August 23rd, 2011

Every time I leave the house without perfume on, I end up feeling naked. The same goes for leaving without sunglasses or my cell phone, for more obvious reasons. Perfume gives the same sense of finality to the getting-ready process as a great accessory. I prefer keeping a few different bottles on hand for various moods and occasions. If I have on a bold outfit that needs a strong scent to keep up, I like to spritz appropriately. On the other hand, a romantic date night will need a sexy and feminine scent. I have several favorites, but right now I cannot get enough of YSL Parisienne. It is extremely feminine with lots of floral and fruity notes with an underlying “woody structure”. I feel ultra glamorous every time I spray this on, and recently had to restock. What is your go-to perfume? ♥

Mermaid Skirt

August 22nd, 2011

top: Target, skirt: Anthropologie, sandals: New York & Co., necklace: JewelMint

With all the different maxi skirts floating around, I couldn’t resist purchasing yet another one this summer. This trend does not look like it will die down anytime soon and I am not complaining. Unlike the little flirty summer dresses I have been flaunting in the August heat, this is one look that I can carry into fall and beyond. This particular skirt has a mermaid shape, bringing structure to the maxi style. Add great stripes placed at a flattering angle and the whole look becomes modern instead of bridal gone wrong. Since it is still nice and warm in LA, I paired this with a simple white tank, letting the skirt take center stage. ♥

Metal Head

August 18th, 2011

scarf: vintage, tank: Urban Outfitters, pants: J. Crew, shoes: Target, bracelet: Deloche, ring: Forever 21

I have been finding every opportunity to wear a DIY turban ever since I first discovered the idea. The last time I posted about it, I was rocking a floral print scarf turned turban and loved the sweet effect it gave to the trend. This time, I wanted to spice it up a little, so I wore a metallic print scarf that I bought at a flea market. Usually I wear this scarf as a makeshift belt or tie it onto a purse, but with my craving for more turban opportunities, I was inspired to utilize this scarf’s striking pattern for just that. What would have been a pretty basic tank and pant outfit suddenly has interest in the form of a shiny head-turning half turban. Have you been experimenting with this trend? ♥
